This is where it all began, Borneo.

The Great Cave of Niah, Sarawak where two groups:the Iban & the Penan, use the cave to collect bird's nests and manure.

I wrote an eBook on Borneo and the impact forest clearing was having on the environment and its peoples there. This sojourn arrives as the first chapter in my book. This is one of the world's biggest cave mouths. I have visited the cave of Niah on two of my three journeys to Borneo. Having travelled Asia extensively, it still remains a highlight for me.

In my book WHAT THE MONSOON KNOWS you will travel three days up river visiting the longhouse tribal communities, while enjoying me as guest of honour at the Borneo Festival in Sibu, the city of swans. You will also get to know the city of cats, Kuching, and visit various jungles and the Sarawak World Music Fest.I was mentored in Sarawak by a well-known anthropologist. My time in Borneo is precious to me.
